Job Description

  • Conceptualise, shape, and implement a comprehensive and purpose-driven Institutional Fundraising strategy to engage various institutional donors.
  • Be responsible for engaging with different donor segments of the International and Indian landscape, including Charitable Trusts, Family Offices, and Multilateral Agencies to raise donations from grants as per the Annual Plan.
  • Support in setting up essential operating infrastructure, processes including drafting of grant proposals, and systems to meet the fundraising goals from institutional donors.
  • Ensure the creation of a robust and researched database of institutional donor communities.
  • He/ she will monitor and evaluate Institutional fundraising activities to ensure that the fundraising goals in the division are achieved
  • Achieve targets (multi-year grants) by identifying, approaching, and procuring funds from potential institutional donors.
  • Hand on experience in drafting multi-million-dollar grant proposals
  • Create implementation as well as expansion plans of corporate and institutional fundraising to multiple cities in the South.
  • Negotiating and managing the financials, donations, and timelines with donors.
  • Manage and develop relationships with multi-lateral institutional donors, CSR teams, and major foundations with a strong emphasis on securing new sources of partnership income both from India and abroad.
  • Deploy self-sustaining practices for retention of existing donors and growing grant/ donation sizes.
  • Directly play the role of account manager of multiple large projects and create and nurture a lasting relationship.
  • Oversee the progress of implementation of the programmes as per the MoU agreed upon with the respective donors.

Job Requirements

Qualification: Postgraduate in environmental science / M.B.A / Social Sciences

  • The candidate must have experience both in institutional fundraising and corporate fundraising and previous experience of securing a minimum of 10 Crores annually in his previous assignments.
  • Familiarity with large institutional donors, such as Side, Mackenzie Scott foundation, other European Official Aid Agencies, European Union, or the UN, with experience in building relationships with grant-giving staff.
  • Knowledge of CRM implementation and sustenance.
  • 6 years of experience in Institutional, corporate, and Government fundraising.
  • Should have knowledge of the fund-raising environment both in India and Internationally, specially from the international agencies, Aig Agencies, and Indian corporate sector (Project funding, cause- related funding, payroll, and event) and institutional fundraising.
  • Should have a personal prospect base and have experience in engaging with C-suite executives and international grant-making organisations

Job Profile –

The HNI (High Net Worth Individual) Manager in Fundraising is responsible for leading the efforts to secure funding from high net worth individuals for the Raintree Foundation (India).The manager will develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects in support of the organization’s mission and strategic priorities.The HNI Manager will work closely with the Senior Manager – Fundraising to develop and implement strategies that will lead to increased revenue from major gift donors.

Key Responsibilities-

  • Develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gift prospects, including high net worth individuals, for the organization
  • Build and maintain a portfolio of major gift donors, ensuring they are properly stewarded to maximize their engagement, involvement, and investment in the organization.
  • Work closely with the fundraising team to ensure that major gift strategies are aligned with overall fundraising goals and objectives.
  • Develop personalized solicitation plans for each major gift donor, including the development of compelling proposals, presentations, and other materials that will be used to secure their support.
  • Identify and participate in major gift fundraising events, as well as other donor cultivation events, to build relationships with prospects and donors
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the community to identify potential major gift donors
  • Ensure that all major gift donor interactions are accurately recorded in the fundraising database and other relevant systems

 

Qualifications/ Experience & other requirement –

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business, marketing, communications, or non- profit management.
  • 6 years of experience in major gift fundraising, with a focus on high net worth individuals.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major   gift donors
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop compelling proposals and presentations

Job Profile –

The Assistant Manager – Development role at Raintree Foundation (India) in Mumbai encompasses fundraising duties. This involves assisting the Senior Manager (Fundraising) in securing grants from foundations and corporations, crafting fundraising strategies, nurturing funder relationships, managing data and handling communications. The ideal candidate should have fundraising experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.

Research

  • Identify and lead research of new funding prospects – foundations, corporates & HNI, through online research

Fundraising Strategy & Implementation

  • Work closely with the Senior Manager – Fundraising to develop a fundraising strategy for supporting Raintree Foundation’s interventions

Maintain Relationship with Funders

  • Manage internal communications about funder reporting requirements

Data Management

  • Ensure data is updated in the Fundraising tracker
  • Track and record activity in a systematic manner
  • Collaborate with the Retail Fundraising team to create individual fundraising initiatives and campaigns
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on the effectiveness of the individual fundraising initiatives and campaigns

Communications

  • Create communications collaterals required for fundraising including pitch decks, proposals and funder reports
  • Collaborate with our Social Media team to create and manage our online communications media including social media, blogs, websites, and newsletters

 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR:

  • 3+ years’ work experience in Fundraising with non-profits is mandatory, and should have demonstrated ability to identify, solicit and close grants from foundations and corporations
  • Bachelor & degree in Social work / B.B.A from an accredited university
  • An aggressive self-motivator who can work independently to deliver on a set of goals.
