Impact in a Flash
Our work is rooted in the belief that environmental conservation and community well-being are interconnected. This quarter, we’ve made tangible strides in both ecological and social resilience. By planting 846 native trees, restoring sacred groves and increasing water storage by 1.6 million liters, we’re ensuring long-term environmental sustainability. Our outreach initiatives in mental health and gender equality have impacted over 1,100 community members, reinforcing our commitment to holistic development.
Restoring the Environment
- Avenue Plantation Success: With 846 native trees planted and an impressive 71% survival rate, our avenue plantation project is transforming local ecosystems. The active participation of 165 community members underscores the shared responsibility of safeguarding our environment.
- Forest Nurseries and Indigenous Plants: We sowed over 1,100 seeds to nurture indigenous plants, backed by training programs for backyard nurseries. This ensures the preservation of local biodiversity, essential for a healthy ecosystem.
- People’s Biodiversity Registers: Two Gram Panchayats now have completed biodiversity registers, documenting local flora and fauna. This critical data will guide future conservation efforts, helping communities preserve their natural heritage.
- Reviving Sacred Groves: Across three villages, we removed invasive species and planted 50 native trees, restoring sacred groves—vital spaces for both cultural and ecological preservation.
Building Community Resilience
- Expanding Mental Health Services: We expanded mental health care to 67 new recipients and organized counseling groups within Public Healthcare Centres (PHCs). Through 159 awareness sessions, we reached 834 people, using creative methods like community songs and exhibitions to spread mental health awareness.
- Advancing Gender and Social Inclusion: We facilitated five women’s Gram Sabha sessions, involving 138 women in local governance. Additionally, we engaged 121 men in gender equality activities helping to create a more inclusive society.
Promoting Sustainable Livelihoods
Backyard Poultry Program: Through our sustainable poultry program, 125 households now benefit from a reliable income source, promoting economic resilience and food security.
Securing Water Resources and Improving Soil Health
- Well Renovation & Repair: By restoring local wells, we’ve improved water access for 106 households, ensuring the availability of clean water for daily needs and agriculture.
- Watershed Conservation: Our efforts in soil moisture conservation have retained 1,325 cubic meters of soil moisture and increased water storage capacity by over 1.6 million liters. This helps sustain local agriculture, especially in times of water scarcity.
